The Atlanta Children’s Shelter was founded in 1986 by the Junior League of Atlanta in response to the increasing number of homeless families with young children in Metro Atlanta. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty for families facing homelessness by building pathways to long-term self-sufficiency and providing quality early childhood education. Over the years, we have continued to evolve our programs to meet the needs of the homeless families we serve.
